Social players are included in club events such as club championships, club days and social events. They can also use the floodlit courts at night, and enter the mid-week evening league as a reserve.

Whitby Tennis Club has weekend interclub teams entered in Regional (Saturday afternoons), Mens (Saturday mornings), Womens (Saturday mornings), and Mixed (Saturday afternoons). All grades commence in October and continue to April the next year.

Mid-week interclub for women is played on Wednesday mornings.

Mid-week evening tennis is very popular. There is a Monday and Tuesday evening league, both consisting of social doubles.

For more information on senior membership options above contact Glenn Johnston.

For a small fee, senior members can obtain a key to the club facilities. Two courts have floodlights, and therefore can be used until 10:00pm at night. We encourage all members playing later into the evening to be mindful of noise levels in consideration to neighbouring residents.

Mid-week ladies social tennis is available at Ngatitoa Tennis Club, Paremata (Ph 04 233 1590).

We are now using ClubSpark to manage our memberships and payments. Please use this link to register your player(s): Whitby Tennis Club / Membership (clubspark.kiwi).

  • 2023-24 Club Championships

Whitby Tennis has recently completed it's 2023/24 season club championships for both Seniors and Juniors.

These competitions are a great opportunity for all of the club members to play competive matches, but also to gather as a club & celebrate another successful season. The matches were played in a great spirit and provided an enjoyable social occasion for both players and spectators.

A huge thanks to Glenn Johnston (Seniors), Richard Beauchamp (Juniors) and all helpers for both organising and managing on the day. A great effort. Congratulations to all our winners - results are posted on our Honours Board.
